I am really enjoying reading your travelogue, your sketches and photos. Can't wait to read more! Also, my daughter (9) and I both love Plain Jane and the Mermaid. She's read it several times now.
Vera, will you be heading to Adak during your travels? I lived there for 10 years (when it was still a military base). Would love to see it again through your eyes!
yes! we're heading there tonight, though only briefly. I'm hoping to get some Adak time in before we fly out of there on the 31st, it seems fascinating. So cool that you got to live there!
Vera, I loved the illustration of you sneaking snacks from the cupboard. Glad the lone slug was rounded up and didn't find them. Gross is an understatement. Hoping the next island isn't overrun with slugs!
Oh dang! I can't wait until next week when we find out which member of the crew is secretly a slug!!!
I love how this entry reads like a horror novel.
Spoiler alert: there are MORE SLUGS.
I find these newsletters SO interesting. What a twist with the sudden slug invasion! Also love your sketches/drawings.
INCREDIBLE drawings. And boo for slugs.
